All unwrapped...

Sophie had 2 drains put in after the 2nd surgery...JP drain and EVD. Well, actually, the JP drain has been in since the initial surgery. Anyway, the JP drain was removed today. In the pictures below, you can see the EVD drain still in.

I really don't know what I am going to do with her hair. I didn't realize so much was going to be shaved...not that it matters.

Sophie has stitches down the middle of her head which is typical in this type of surgery.
But she also has a few stitches on the right side of her head where they put a few grids on.
You gotta love the little strip of hair left in between the two rows of stitches!!!

This is the back left side of her head.
Again, there are two rows of stitches.
The white tube is the EVD drain.
The white gauze in the middle of that is thread to tie up once the EVD drain comes out so that they won't have to put any additional stitches in...you gotta love Dr. Sood for being so meticulous.

  1. For the most part, the doctors will probably want her head covered, especially when outside. Do you have any soft knit caps you can use? Other than that, perhaps pulling what's left into a pony tail will cover the bald patches.

Soon enough and she'll have it back.
